Please make sure you are hydrated, well rested and have had a snack. Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing.

You can wear medical devices, necessary compression garments, but please avoid Spanx or other constructing garments because they will impact your circulation during treatments.

Do not schedule acupuncture on the same day as:

  • deep tissue massage, acupressure or shiatsu
  • blood draw or other medical procedure
  • aggressive chiropractic adjustment
  • tooth extraction or dental surgery (unless you’re coming in afterwards for a pain session)
  • dry needling
  • strenuous exercise
  • when you plan to drink alcohol

If you have:

  • an open wound
  • any contagious condition

Please wait until the condition has completely resolved before coming in. Please wait 14 days after exposure to Covid, and 7 days after all Covid symptoms have resolved. Feel free to book a phone or online herbal session, but I will not treat you with acupuncture if you are contagious, because I value my patient’s health and don’t put them at risk.

Initial Assessment

You will receive a link to fill out online paperwork asking questions about your current and past health conditions. Because Traditional Asian Medicine is a holistic medicine, I ask questions about your current issues and general health so I can get a good idea about the root cause of your symptoms. I allow 30 minutes to go over everything, but sometimes we don’t need to use that whole time. I use some TCM diagnostic techniques to decide how to proceed.

Acupuncture treatment session

After I have determined the correct diagnosis, I will treat you using acupuncture (with or without needles), and depending on what you need, I might suggest gua sha, or cupping as well. I give you the option of choosing herbs, nutrition or lifestyle advice. Chinese Medicine includes training in herbal medicine, body work, Eastern Nutrition, and qi gong (moving meditation). These are all treatment options.

Cupping or GUa Sha

Cupping uses suction to different areas of the body. Think of it like a reverse deep tissue massage.

Gua sha involves gentle scraping massage.

They both increase circulation, reduce pain and inflammation.

Herbal Sessions

If you choose to get herbs, we will discuss your symptoms and condition, and I will send you an online link to a prescription. You will click on it, and the company will ship your herbs to your door. This insures your herbs are always fresh.

EAR SEEDS

Ear seeds are tiny balls that are placed on the ear to stimulate acupuncture points for 4 days. It’s a way to extend treatment, and is especially nice for pain or stress
