Donna Tatum

Donna Tatum holds a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the prestigious AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. She also studied at the world-renowned Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, California. The faculty at both schools contained some of the premiere leaders in Chinese medicine, and she was educated in both classical and modern modalities.

At AOMA, the study of integrative medicine draws on the 2,000 year history of Chinese medicine, viewing the mind, body and spirit as a single interrelated system. The rigorous and comprehensive MAcOM curriculum promotes mastery of the essential elements of Chinese medicine.

Donna completed an intensive 4 year program which included:

  • 400  hours of Bio-medical studies
  • 516 hours of Oriental Diagnosis and Acupuncture Techniques
  • 480 hours of Herbal Medicine
  • 96 hours of Chinese Food Therapy and Nutrition
  • 158 hours of Tai Chi, Medical Qi Gong and Qi Gong
  • 980 hours of supervised clinical internship

She’s been fortunate to attend classes taught by internationally renowned acupuncturists and doctors including Dr. Joseph Titlebaum, and Ann Louise Gittleman, John Chen and Kiiko Matsumoto. She has also has extensive knowledge of essential oil therapeutics.

Both AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine and Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1982 by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the American Association of Oriental Medicine. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a “specialized and professional” accrediting agency, ACAOM’s primary purposes are to establish comprehensive educational and institutional requirements for acupuncture and Oriental medicine programs, and to accredit programs and institutions that meet these requirements. There are not currently any accredited educational programs in Kansas or Missouri.
